Lucas Campos, MD, PHD

Lucas Campos, M.D., Ph.D., hails from the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California. As an undergraduate, he traveled east to study at Yale University where he was awarded the prestigious Edward A. Bouchet Fellowship for his research on photosynthesis as renewable source of consumer energy production. Dr. Campos then matriculated to Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where he enrolled in medical scientist training program and completed both an M.D. and a Ph.D. His Ph.D. research was in a novel surgical therapy to treat patients with spinal cord injuries. Dr. Campos then pursued an Anesthesiology residency at the University of Michigan.

In an effort to serve the needs of the growing population experiencing chronic pain, Dr. Campos accepted a fellowship in Pain Medicine at Stanford University where he learned to treat complex pain syndromes from the top experts in the field. Dr. Campos is dedicated to using his advanced training in multi-modal pain therapies to improve the quality of life of patients who experience chronic pain.

In his free time, Dr. Campos enjoys fly-fishing, golf, and alpine skiing.


 

Manoj Poudel, MD

Dr. Manoj Poudel completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency from University of Miami/Jackson Health and Sports Medicine Fellowship from UC Davis Health. He did his medical school from his home country Nepal with full scholarships. Before moving to the US, he worked as a professor in medical schools at 3 different countries. His area of interest are musculoskeletal injuries, regenerative medicine, ultrasound-guided procedures, spine and sports sideline coverage. On top of his academic excellence, Dr. Poudel played competitive soccer for high school, college, universities, municipality, and districts. He likes to practice what he preaches and is regular at sporting and gym activities. Dr. Poudel’s achievements are lauded at international arenas as well. He was a Founder Chair of the trainee and early career physicians of his specialty at International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM). He is also Co-founder of the specialty in his home country, Nepal. Dr. Poudel has delivered lectures/talks nationally and internationally including in Japan, France, Portugal, the Philippines, West Indies and Nepal.


 

Toufan Razi, MD

Dr. Razi received his graduate training at the Ross University Medical School, with his graduate-level residency in anesthesiology at the famous Beth Israel-Deaconess hospitals affiliated with Harvard. He is double board-eligible in both Anesthesia and Pain Management. Dr. Razi explains that it was about halfway through his anesthesia residency that he became interested in working with “awake people” as opposed to anesthetized patients undergoing surgery, and especially with patients experiencing chronic pain difficulties. Within his understanding of the biopsychosocial functional restoration paradigm for treating such people. Dr. Razi has additional training and certification in opioid detoxification. He expects to be working closely with Dr. Jasmine Silva and the Footsteps program in the Walnut Creek site to increase referrals that would benefit patients who need to decrease or discontinue the use of narcotic medications for chronic pain. Dr. Razi has two locations. One in Fairfield and another conveniently located in San Leandro, two blocks from the freeway and near the local Kaiser-Permanente medical facility.


 

Amy Thornton, L.Ac

Amy Thornton is a licensed acupuncturist and has been involved in the healing arts since 2003. Starting as a massage therapist and then studying Chinese medicine in 2008 she has followed along with many different paths, discovering myriad healing techniques and her own gift of helping others. From postural assessment, recovery from injury, or just regular life stresses. Amy has facilitated healing for thousands of people.  With over 5000 hours of training, a masters degree in Traditional Oriental medicine and a strong background in treating a variety of pain conditions is a valuable addition to our team at IPM.  She teaches wellness classes at a variety of locations and treats patients in San Ramon and Fremont.


 

Amynta Hayenga

Amynta graduated from the Wright Institute in Clinical Psychology and provides psychotherapy and teaching skills for coping with chronic pain.


 

Dennis Newlin, LMFT

I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist with compassion to bring healing to people who have been through traumatic/stressful experiences. I am trained in a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Brain Spotting, Didactic Behavior Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy.

I have worked with diverse populations from the chronically homeless mentally ill forensic population, families and children that have experienced neglect/abuse, domestic violence victims and perpetrators, and runaway/homeless youth.

I have a MA in Counseling Psychology, a one-year post-master’s dual diagnosis (addiction and mental health) certificate, a BA in Behavioral Science with an emphasis on substance abuse, and scheduled to complete an MS in Integrative and Functional Medicine in the Spring of 2021.


 

Enoch Quon, PT

Enoch earned his Doctorate in Physical therapy from Mount Saint Mary’s in 2019. Prior to IPM, Enoch spent 2 years working in an outpatient orthopedic setting where he was able to work with a variety of conditions ranging from acute, chronic, and post-op rehabilitation. He is also a certified personal trainer and has worked as a fitness instructor for 7 years. Enoch enjoys and values working with inter-disciplinary care to educate and empower individuals to achieve their goals.  During his free time, Enoch enjoys playing basketball, weightlifting, hiking, and participating in activities at his church.


 

Karen Lau, LCSW

Karen Lau, LCSW is a licensed therapist with extensive experience in providing individual and group therapy. These experiences include helping those struggling with difficult transitions, anxiety, trauma and/or depression. Prior to being a clinician, Karen was a career coach and consultant. During this time, she witnessed how a client's emotional health and psychological background can be strengths or obstacles in their efforts to stay healthy and to be at their best potential. She decided to seek training and received her MSW in advanced clinical practice from Columbia University. Currently she uses a combination of evidence based modalities in her practice, such as CBT, CPT, ACT, Narrative, IPT, PST, Compassion focused, Mindfulness, IFS, and EMDR.

Due to her professional experiences in diverse practice settings, she has had the opportunity to work with individuals from across all job functions and social backgrounds. She hopes to bring these skills and experiences to help others improve their mental and physical health. No matter where you are on your path towards living more meaningful lives, she looks forward to helping you in that journey.


 

Lisa Cung, NP

Lisa Cung has worked as a nurse practitioner in pain management since 2014. She has a Masters of Science in Nursing degree from Samuel Merritt University as a Family Nurse Practitioner.


 

Marielena Hercher, PT

Mari is a graduate of the UCSF/SFSU Doctor of Physical Therapy program with experience working in acute care, pediatrics, and outpatient orthopedics. She is a yoga and dance instructor and loves to incorporate these into treatments to improve strength and mobility. When she's not in the clinic, Mari enjoys dance classes, camping trips and live music.


 

Shannon Hagan, PsyD

Shannon Hagan, PsyD. is a Licensed Psychologist and Director of the Department of Behavioral Medicine for the Integrated Pain Management in Fairfield and San Leandro locations, where she has worked since 2014.  In her current role, she is acting director of both Functional Restoration Programs and Psychological Services for San Leandro and Fairfield locations. Dr. Hagan received her undergraduate from UC Irvine and went on to complete her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Psychology (CIIS). She completed her postdoctoral psychology internships at California College of the Arts as well as the Psychological Services Center at CIIS. Dr. Hagan has experience working with adults with chronic pain as well as those struggling with issues related to creativity and spirituality.  She completed her dissertation on the intersection between Buddhism and Psychotherapy.  She currently utilizes a predominantly psychodynamic approach in her clinical work.
