Anupama Ganga, MD

Dr. Anupama Ganga is a board-certified physiatrist and sports medicine specialist at IPM Medical Group. After completing her medical school and residency in India, she completed further residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation in New Jersey, one of the top rehabilitation hospitals in the country. Dr. Ganga then spent a fellowship year with Dr. Marko Bodor – a leading name in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound in Napa California – receiving further training in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, Interventional Spine Procedures and Sports Medicine. Her goal is to provide a better quality of life for people affected by various musculoskeletal and neurological disorders and conditions. Her training in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound is an asset to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions, including sports injuries. Dr. Ganga’s expertise includes, but are not limited to:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of painful joint, tendon, ligament, muscle and peripheral nerve conditions
  • Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
  • Fluoroscopically (x-ray) guided spinal interventions, such as epidural injection and nerve blocks
  • Rehabilitation of persons with chronic musculoskeletal and neurological disorders such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and stroke
  • Regenerative Medicine including prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma injections (PRP) for tendon, ligament and joint injuries
  • Electrodiagnostic studies (EMG/NCS)


 

Richard I. Gracer, MD

Richard Gracer, MD has been practicing orthopedic medicine since 1979. He is board certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine, and the American Board of Family Medicine, and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management. He retired from full time practice, after 43 years, as a partner at Integrated Pain Management Medical Group in January 2018. He currently consults at the clinic on a part time basis.

He was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Community and Family Medicine at UC San Francisco School of Medicine from 1980 until 2005 and has edited three books, Beating the Years, Beating Back Pain and Beating Sports Injuries. He is the author of A New Prescription for Addiction, his first book, and wrote an essay in the anthology, Peak Vitality.


 

Sabrina Oukil, MD

Sabrina Oukil, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of California Los Angeles and her medical degree from the University of California San Diego. She then completed her residency in anesthesiology at the University of California Irvine followed by a pain medicine fellowship at the University of Maryland. Dr. Oukil is very active in the advancement of pain medicine on the national level, holds several national and state committee memberships, and served as faculty at the ASRA Pain Medicine national meeting. She specializes in multiple aspects of pain management, including spinal injections, joint and nerve injections, musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, regenerative medicine, musculoskeletal ultrasound and integrative pain medicine. Dr. Oukil strives to educate and empower her patients to become active participants in their pain recovery journey. She is committed to helping her patients maintain a fulfilling and active lifestyle, and will partner with her patients to determine the best treatment approaches to meet their goals. Dr. Oukil was raised in southern California and now lives in the bay area with her husband and children.


 

Amy Thornton, L.Ac

Amy Thornton is a licensed acupuncturist and has been involved in the healing arts since 2003. Starting as a massage therapist and then studying Chinese medicine in 2008 she has followed along with many different paths, discovering myriad healing techniques and her own gift of helping others. From postural assessment, recovery from injury, or just regular life stresses. Amy has facilitated healing for thousands of people.  With over 5000 hours of training, a masters degree in Traditional Oriental medicine and a strong background in treating a variety of pain conditions is a valuable addition to our team at IPM.  She teaches wellness classes at a variety of locations and treats patients in San Ramon and Fremont.
